We spent nearly 30% of my 23 year career in championsip games. Needless to say, it took a great deal of recruiting to maintain success. It was non-stop, 7 days a week! Every evening I looked over dozens of emails that I was not able to get to during the day. I responded to those who fit my needs, while deleting many. Each year I heard from half a dozen recruit companies, who charge you extremely high fees; some even requiring memberships. Over 90% of those firms sent me prospective players who wanted to major in studies that our college never even offer! This wasted my valuable time, and was of little use to the student athlete. When I made the decision to retire, I reflected on how many players I did not reach. I know that I can offer service that YOU need, for a fraction of their fees. Rather than "blanket" your information to coaches all over the country, I will advise you of the schools that fit your academic needs in your area of choice, while also mentoring you on understanding what coaches look for in a recruit.
ID camps can be useful, but even those events that carry 200 to 500 campers can create a challenge for coaches. It is impossible to see and assess every player within a matter of hours.
